Create Your Vacation Plan

After you learn about the many features of Walt Disney World, it’s time to begin planning your vacation! Here’s how to use the Fun Sheets on Pages 81-85 in Mouse Map:

  1. Every person in your family or group has his/her own vision of the perfect vacation. Sit down together and talk about what you each expect. Make notes about your preferences.
  2. Consider the time of the year that you would like to visit Disney World. Consider whether you need to plan around school or work schedules, availability of discount airfare or hotel rooms, or special events at Disney World. Check the Year at a Glance on Page 8-9.
  3. Review the items you checked on the Mouse Maps, along with any notes. Decide how many days you would like to spend in each park and how many days to spend on vacation. Make a list of your priorities and “must-do” activities.
  4. Compare the cost of different transportation options, such as flying or driving. You may wish to look at your resort options while you are planning your transportation. Finding a great room rate may determine the dates you travel. Make notes of your travel plans on the Fun Sheet-Schedule on Page 82-84 and the Budget sheet on Page 85.
  5. Go back to the Resort Hotels information on Page 72-76. Follow the suggestions for choosing your resort. Contact your travel agent or Disney Reservations at 407-W-DISNEY (934-7639) to check availability and make reservations. Record your plans on the Fun Sheet—Schedule, and add the cost to the Budget Sheet.
  6. Use the ticket information on Page 81 to select the type of tickets you will need. Purchase your tickets through your travel agent or the Disney World web site. Record your purchase information on the Fun Sheet, and add the cost to the Budget Sheet.
  7. Review possible recreational activities on Page 51-71. Call 407-WDW-TOUR (939-8687) to check availability and make reservations. Record your plans on the Fun Sheet Schedule. Add the expenses to the Budget.
  8. Make a list of table-service restaurants where you would like to dine. Beginning 180 days before your vacation, call 407-WDW-DINE (939-3463) to check availability and make reservations. Record your plans on the Fun Sheet Schedule. Use the price codes ($-$$$$) on the Mouse Maps to estimate the cost of your meals, then add the expenses to the Budget.
  9. Check the park schedules and Extra Magic Hour times on the Disney World web site (follow the links from mouse-map.com). Write out your daily plans on the Fun Sheet on Page 82-84.
  10. Take your Mouse Map™ with these Fun Sheets with you as you and your family enjoy your Walt Disney World vacation. The information will be invaluable in helping you enjoy your perfect Walt Disney World vacation.
