This week's weather: Pack your warm clothes, because it's going to be cold at Disney World this week. (Yeah, I don't think I moved to Florida for this kind of weather... My consolation is that it's colder and yuckier just about everywhere else!) The overnight lows through Wednesday will be near 30. The highs will be only in the mid-50s. Dress in layers!
For some of you, this weather is still better than what's back home and you might think that dressing in layers is overkill. Remember that you'll going between sunny, shaded and indoors. Layers allows you to adjust throughout the day. It'll be chilly again for the evening fireworks shows.
Ride Closures: At the Magic Kingdom, Splash Mountain will be closed from now until Feb. 27 for its annual rehab. Typhoon Lagoon will be closed through Saturday for its annual rehab (but who would be playing in the water in these temperatures anyway?).
Upcoming closures: Blizzard Beach will close starting Sunday, Jan. 10, and reopen March 21. At Epcot, Test Track will be closed Jan. 11-17. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular will be closed Jan. 11-15.

Some roadways will have lanes blocked, and traffic will likely be heavier than normal. Note events in the parks, and avoid those times if you don't want to be part of the Marathon adventure.
